Logos launched a new version of their popular Bible software on October 10 of this year. There are some significant changes that are sure to get you excited like it did for me. Here are some of my favourites? At the time of writing I am using Beta 22.0 Beta 2. If your software does not work exactly like mine hold on it is coming.
This tool is sure to excite many Logos users. Have you ever seen a resource that was being offered free, but you did not purchase it because it was in another language? The translation tool now makes you bilingual. With over one hundred languages it is something that non English speakers will love, as well as the rest of us who are limited to one language.
Now you can use your mobile phone and scan the barcode of a book and search it in Logos even if you do not own the Logos version of the resource.
Have you ever wished that your phone did a better job of reading a resource from your Logos library? Well now your wishes have come through. Logos has the capability to read any resource in English. The voices on your phone make all the difference. I tried it with ioS 16. It is not the same as an audio book read by a human, but it beats what I had before. Now on a long commute you can catch up with your reading.
The software is faster. Logos has taken advantage of the increased speed of Microsoft .net 6 platform. I have seen numerous users make compliments on the change.
Improved Search Engine
Logos has really sought to make it easier for the non-technical user, while retaining the power of the search engine. Two examples will suffice: I typed in “footmen horses” and immediately it pulled up Jeremiah 12:5. You can now combine various search categories and the software will make suggestions. No more remembering complicated syntaxes.
Another feature that I like is the ability to search the entire collection of Logos resources that I do not own. I search for a term and have it tell me which resources match the criteria. This is the feature called “Bookstore”.
Type the word “cross” in the Factbook search field and it immediately gives a definition and pulls up the article from my prioritized dictionary. While I have not played around with this extensively, it does a pretty good job of categorizing the results in the different categories which can be expanded.

From this platform will flow Bible lessons, Biblical teaching and training using lectures, sermons and software to empower the church. My focus will be on the Faithlife platform with emphasis on Logos Bible Software, Faithlife Groups and Proclaim Presentation Software.

Now you can move the toolbar from the top to the left without having to restart the software. The toolbar has a redesigned interface but still retains the familiar look that users are familiar with.
More information with a new design. It seems to have a cleaner interface with more information, which is constantly being updated.
I definitely give it four out of five stars. If you are serious about Bible study or just a casual user Logos has something for everyone, from their starter packages right up through Portfolio.
If you have not upgraded your library, go ahead do so, of yourself or as a gift for someone else.
